A Celebration of Life for Shane Douglas Lee

Shane Douglas Lee, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2021 in Needles California. He was 63 years old.

Celebration of Life for Shane

Shane was born to parents Jesse and Doris Lee, in Ft. Polk, Louisiana on June 18. 1957 when his father was serving in the Army. When Shane was still a baby his family moved to Alaska, where he would spend nearly all of his life.

Shane will be dealy missed by his two daughters Amber Hays and Shayle DenBleyker and their families, wife Brenda Lee, beloved mother Doris Lee, two sisters Kelly Gorman and Cydney Lee-Downey, mother of his childen, Robin Robinson, His eight grandchildren and many others. Shane was predeceased by his father, Jesse Lee.

As a teen, Shane discovered he had a passion and a gift for mechanics. This gift wasn’t really a gift–many knew Shane to be a mechanical genius. He had the uncanny ability to fix anything with a motor, and his skills eventually led to creations of what could only be described as works of art. Shane built bikes that were not only mechanically superb, but the pride in craftsmanship was obvious. Riding on the open highways of Alaska surrounded by all of the grandeur that this great state offers, is where some of Shane’s happiest memories were made.

Shane will lovingly be remembered as a man born with a true heart of gold. He would help anyone who needed it without question, and was the best kind of friend. Shane was known for his playful, silly humor (King Mountain Fire Walker), love of photography and writing poetry. The world is truly a better place having had Shane be a part of it.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Palmer Train Depot on June 24, 2021 at 2pm in Palmer, Alaska. All who knew and loved Shane are welcome to attend.

There will also be a Memorial Run for Shane on Sunday June 27 at Noon at the Downtown Palmer Pavilion. The run is to the Alpine Inn Sutton. All are welcome. Anchorage folks going to Palmer for the Run can meet at the Cabin Tavern at 11am.

Motorcycle Class – Abate sponsored Starts Soon

Riding season will be a blast this year! The new season of motorcycle class abate are underway. We recommend that all riders take a formal motorcycle class, as studies have indicated that 90% of crash-involved riders are self-taught. Classes are provided by Valley ABATE, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation recognized training provider.
